Book Club Webinar Overview:

This webinar provides you an opportunity to review the key principles of Gestalt Play Therapy and discuss a range of Gestalt Play Therapy processes and activities. Based on the work on Violet Oaklander, the book, Healing Through Play: Using the Oaklander Model, is an accessible introduction into this method of working with children. We will have time to reflect on and share the activities that you have found or would find most useful for the children and young people you are working with. We will also consider the role of aggression release activities and Oaklanders's approach to assessement and treatment planning. I am looking forward to sharing this discussion and reflection on this book with you!  

 

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Review core principles of the Oaklander Model of Gestalt Play Therapy; 
  • Reflect on and share actvities you find valuable for your clients;
  • Consider the role of aggression release for children in therapy;
  • Discuss the Oaklander approach to assessment and treatment planning;
  • Connect with like-minded play therapy professionals in the field for supportive learning.

Jacki is the Owner and Director of Sydney Centre for Creative Change. She is a registered counselling psychologist and play therapist and supervisor with over 25 years’ experience in counselling, supervision, group work and training. 

 

Her work in schools, hospitals, welfare organisations, drug and alcohol agencies and in private practice has inspired Jacki’s belief in the power of imagination, positivity, play and possibilities - especially in the face of challenge.

 

Passionate about supporting others to find creative ways to express, explore and resolve difficulties, Jacki loves sharing opportunities for connection and creativity.
